The Neurofeedback Evaluation Results Are In!

The results of the initial evaluation at Sierra Mental Fitness in Roseville are in. The evaluation included a T.O.V.A.® Test of Variables of Attention and a brainwave qEEG using the Deymed TruScan 32. The T.O.V.A.® test showed no indication of ADD or AD/HD as there is a good level of attention, but did show a… Continue

SmartBrain Games Technology - The First Session

Background Information

OK, before we start, I want to go over our background information to use as a starting point.

For me, I have been having increasing difficulty in creating and maintaining focus for the past few years. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest value in being able to create and maintain a high level of focus, I fall within a 4-6 range on any given day. I have noticed a higher level of anxiety this year due to an increased level of stress both professionally and p… Continue

SmartBrain Games Technology - The Second Session

This will be brief. Marissa's second session went well. She was motivated to play and didn't get bored like she did the first time. I think the biggest factor is that I figured out the proper sensor placement for her head. This made game play much easier for her. There was very little annoying, constant "fail" beeping. And, once the constant beeping returned, a simple adjustment of the visor solved the problem.

Game play was in the evening this time around 6:00 pm after I got home from work. Th… Continue

SmartBrain Games Technology - What's Up With The Data?

Before jumping in and throughly confusing folks with a bunch of numbers and data, I think it is important to note that the biggest "measurement" of how this system is working is what it is actually doing for you. After going through 15-20 training sessions, the question one should ask is: "Am I able to become and remain more calm and focused even during stressful situations than I was in the past?" If your answer is, "Yes", then the technology has worked for you.

I just want to "briefly" cover… Continue

The second session went OK today. Marissa said that it was a bit more difficult to keep the screen size and sound volume at optimum. I didn't get a chance to ask if they had raised the threshold this time. Actually, I didn't think about it at the ti…

One other note about the first session. We were told to be on the lookout for noticeable differences, such as a increase in agitation or an increase in problems sleeping. The only thing I can say is that Marissa fell asleep on the couch while watchi…

Marissa had her first session today. It took about 30 minutes and she said it was easy. They hooked her up to the electrodes, set the threshold relatively low so that she could get the hang of it and started the movie. She quickly got the hang of re…

Some of you may recall a line from "The Joy Luck Club". OK guys, just bear with me for a moment. There's a scene between June and her Mom. That's where she tells June she has "only hope" for her daughter -- assuring her that, "I see you". In order…
